Youth Disability Support Worker

As a youth disability support worker, you will be at the forefront in leading social change.
Shifts will mainly be split shifts, morning and evening, weekend work and unsocial hours. Rosters do change based on the needs of the people you support and will include one or two weekend days.

- Hold a level 3 or level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification
- Previous experience working in a community-based intellectual disability setting
- Have experience supporting children or young people with intellectual disabilities
- Have local experience supporting people with high and complex needs
- Hold a full NZ driver’s licence with no restrictions
- Confident driving vans
- Are comfortable providing one-to-one support
- Can establish and maintain clear professional boundaries
- Bring a positive, respectful and encouraging approach to your work

intellectual disabilities who can display challenging behaviours, and who have
experienced trauma and mental injury. You will be asked to work closely with
people with intellectual disabilities and build a lasting working relationships
with them. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate strategies for
maintaining resilience, professional boundaries and personal wellbeing when
supporting people with intellectual disability.
