This is an overnight role; normal hours of work would be 2100-0700 and you will need to be awake during that time. This is not a sleepover role. In this role you will be providing support for our people overnight, which includes a lot of computer work, so computer literacy is required.
As a Wakeover Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting people with intellectual disabilities—many of whom live with complex mental health needs and may display high-energy or challenging behaviours. This is an awake overnight role, requiring you to stay alert, calm, and compassionate throughout the night. You’ll respond to any needs that arise, ensuring a safe and reassuring environment. Your resilience and understanding of disability will help you see beyond behaviours to the person within, recognising their strengths and potential. We’re looking for intuitive, dependable people who are respectful, observant, and committed to making a difference. If you bring patience, a steady presence, and a sense of humour, you’ll help create moments of comfort and connection—even in the quiet hours.
