Recruitment Specialist

This role is primarily about recruiting, and sharing our story. You’ll be joining a supportive close-knit team and wider Hōhepa community.

We are looking for our next Recruitment Specialist to take on a varied role, supporting Managers to recruit and retain some of the best people in our sector. You will be skilled in building relationships, value in-person connection and know that the job just doesn’t stop at 5pm. Being part of our extended community is critical to this role and this person’s success. In your first few weeks, spending quality time with the people we support (and the people who support them) and understanding their needs will be key. Our people are at the centre of all that we do.
You don’t necessarily have to come from an HR background to be successful, but you will need an understanding of employment legislation and good staff management practices here in Aotearoa.

- Previous relationship management experience.
- Either in-house or agency-based recruitment experience.
- Ability to tell our story and share our vision.
- Confidence in public speaking – by phone, in person, individually and groups.
- Highly detail-conscious – we operate in a very complex compliance environment.
- Innovative, seeing barriers as an opportunity to rethink your approach to sourcing.
- You hold a full NZ driver’s licence with no restrictions.

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and passionate about people. You'll take the time to understand our services and culture, become a trusted ambassador for Hōhepa, and use creativity and initiative to attract exceptional people. This isn't a role for someone who waits for applicants to come to them. You'll be out in the community, building connections, sharing our story, and finding talented people in places others might not think to look. And alongside all of this, you will manage candidates through our system, communicate promptly, draw up accurate employment documents, and ensure every bit of required paperwork is received!
