Property Services Specialist (Maintenance Specialist)

We're looking for an experienced Property Specialist (Maintenance) to join our team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys painting, decorating, general maintenance and vehicle management. You'll play a key role in maintaining Hōhepa sites to high standard. You will have access to a work vehicle during working hours.

The role would ideally suit a jack of all trades type person who can work alone or within the team and loves to clear the ‘to do list” each day. You will carry out a range of property maintenance duties, including light building duties, and painting. Hōhepa has a large number of vehicles that you would be managing, from standard repairs to more complex panel beating.

General Maintenance Tasks/Repairs:

• Oversight of preventative maintenance schedule and routine checks.
• In coordination with the Business and Partnership manager and wider Property Team, prioritise and schedule maintenance tasks for the property and fleet vehicles.
• Fixing or replacing faulty equipment and appliances in houses and sites.
• Repairing furniture, doors, and cabinetry.
• Coordinating external contractors and repairs where needed.
  

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Prior experience with building repairs / maintenance
• Relevant trade qualification (preferred but not essential)
• Strong painting, decorating, and general trade skills.
• Confident completing hands-on repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Customer focused with a high standard of workmanship.
• Full NZ Drivers Licence is required (and confidence driving both manual and automatic vehicles)
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and in writing)
• Solid technology and systems capability – we use a few maintenance management tools, covering tasks list and health and safety. This sits alongside daily use of Microsoft products.

The main focus of the Property Services Team is to ensure that each person we support is able to live and work in a safe and secure environment and enjoy facilities that meet their needs. Hōhepa property is located on two main sites (Clive and Poraiti); we also manage properties in wider Napier area.

There is a little bit of everything for this role. You’ll be a part our close-knit team looking after our property portfolio, with various stakeholders. This role has a strong focus on health and safety, someone who can implement their DIY/Tradies skills in a unique environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people. No day is the same, one day you may be fixing a broken door, the next you may be setting up a stage for our community events!
