Join our award-winning dairy team—2025 Sustainability Champion and Gold Medal winners—as a Cheesemaker. Following a phase of transformation in our farm and dairy operations, we have an exciting opportunity for a Cheesemaker to help shape Hōhepa’s future through innovation, sustainability, and excellence.

We are looking for a team player with great interpersonal skills, and experience in cheesemaking (or a similar food production role).  This is a full-time position 40 hours over 5 days per week, predominantly Monday to Friday, however some weekend work and flexibility is required to meet the seasonality of this type of work.

The Cheesemaker will work closely with the cheesery and farm team, to optimise production efficiency and maintain the integrity of Hōhepa’s artisanal dairy products. This role requires a hands-on approach in day-to-day operations in producing the highest quality dairy products, supporting a collaborative and inclusive working environment.

We’re looking for someone passionate about food production and making a difference in people’s lives. If you’re practical, compassionate, and ready to be part of a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has dairy or food production experience (preferably in cheesemaking)
• Shows empathy and respect
• Works well with others – team, volunteers, and those people we support
• Is mature, practical, and handles challenges calmly
• Is drug-free and can pass background checks
